Anthology in Support of the First Responders of the Las Vegas Shooting

The tragic events of October 1, 2017, rocked the Las Vegas Community. Sin City Romance Writers is publishing an anthology to put more stories of love and hope in the world and benefit our brave first responders whose valiant efforts saved lives on that terrible night. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to charities benefiting first responders. Specific charities will be selected by Sin City Romance Writers and listed in all marketing materials.

If you have an idea for a short novella – 10,000 – 15,000 words, that involves first responders, surviving or rebuilding after a tragedy, please consider participating.  We are looking for romances only with a heat level of sweet to steamy, no erotica.

If you have questions, or are interested participating, contact Beverly McIntosh at beverlymcintosh@msn.com. Queries for the anthology are due on Friday, October 27 and should contain a brief synopsis of the story, as well as the author’s biography.

Sin City Romance Writers will contact everyone by the end of the day, Saturday, October 28th with a final list of the accepted submissions.

Those authors selected to participate will be provided with a joint venture agreement detailing the rights and responsibilities of the authors. Authors will agree that 100% of the proceeds will go to charity and they will agree to refrain from publishing their novella for a period of twelve months after publication.  If you are interested in submitting a previously published novella, you must agree to pull the work from distribution while the anthology is for sale.

First  drafts must be completed by Friday, December 15th.

All manuscripts must be critiqued by 2 contributing authors by December 29th. Sin City Romance Writers will assign critique partners.

Final revised draft of novella is due by January 6th. Each author is responsible for their own editing costs.

Deadlines are tight and firm. One missed deadline means your novella will be pulled from the project. No exceptions.

This anthology will be heavily marketed in both ebook and print. It will be priced with an eye toward raising the maximum amount of money possible.

Queries and questions should be sent to beverlymcintosh@msn.com.
