Twenty Rules of Storytelling
with Barb Wilson
Writing a book is a blast – when the words fly out of your fingers, the characters won’t stop talking to you, and the plot hums along like a well-oiled machine. Nothing can bring you down…until the words stop flowing, the characters get laryngitis, or the plot vanishes into the ether.
In this workshop, you’ll:
– Learn valuable tips for getting your story out of your head and onto the page
– Devise exercises to help bust through a nasty case of writer’s block, and
– Discover the three essential decisions everyone should make before beginning to write.
Classes will be held from 9-14 through 10-5. New lessons will be posted 9-14, 9-21, 9-28, and 10-5. Homework will be assigned and feedback will be provided throughout, depending on when exercises were given to editor.
Cost for the class: $20 for LVRW members, and $25 for non-members
She is also a published author (fiction and non-fiction), currently writing under multiple pen names.
Her latest writing venture is a monthly column for a regional motorcycle publication, augmented with her real-life adventures with her hubby on their Harley trike.
Storytelling and words were always important to her, and she spent her childhood with her nose in a book and a blue pencil in her hand. Now she enjoys working with clients and helping polish their work for eventual publication.
In 2015, she met Judith Briles, aka The Book Shepherd®, at the Las Vegas Writer Conference, and has since stepped up to become a part of Judith’s work team.
